The Flute View Composer Competition: Galway Flute Festival

The Flute View is excited to announce our 2019 Composer Competition in honor of Sir James Galway's 80th birthday celebration and the Galway Flute Festival!  Details below.  We look forward to your compositions!

The Flute View / Galway Flute Festival Composer Competition

What it is:

Up to 5 minute flute quintet or sextet to honor Sir James' 80th and the 30th anniversary of the Galway Flute Festival, written for The Flute View Trio and 2-3 other players.

Instrumentation:

C flutes, optional piccolo and/or alto flute and/or bass flute

Deadline:

All materials must be submitted by May 15th via email to: TFVComposerCompetition@gmail.com

Items for Submission:

* PDF of score

* Any MP3s or electronic links to sound files

* Cover letter with contact information including name, street address, e-mail address, and one-paragraph biography as an attached document.

* Entrance fee submitted through The Flute View's Website: $50.00

FIRST PRIZE

Premiere at 2019 Galway Flute Festival in Weggis, Switzerland and $1,000 cash sponsored by Gemeinhardt

SECOND PRIZE

$500 cash sponsored by The Flute View Magazine

THIRD PRIZE

$250 cash sponsored by Flute Center of New York
