Thank you for your interest in contributing to The Flute View. Below, you will find information regarding submission procedures. We welcome submissions from the flute community on an ongoing basis, and we hope that the following information will help you transform your idea into an article for our publication!
Submitting an article:
Queries and article drafts should be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The submission deadline for articles is the 15th of every month. We accept both unsolicited articles and articles solicited by the editorial team.
Articles should be submitted as a Word document. During the editing process, the Deputy Editor might provide comments and suggestions to the writer. We ask that articles requiring adjustments be resubmitted within one week.
We ask that writers attempt to adhere to the following word counts. Articles outside of these suggested word counts will still be considered—however, writers might be asked to edit down articles that exceed these parameters.
- Album reviews: 200-400 words
- Standard article: 600-800 words
- Featured article: 1,000-2,200 words
We want to help promote you as a flutist and a writer and give you the recognition you deserve as a contributor to The Flute View. Completed submissions should include as much of the following list as possible:
- Article in Word document format
- Recent photo/headshot as a high resolution .jpeg file at least 600 pixels wide
