Can you share the story behind the founding of MG Leatherworks? What inspired you to create premium leather accessories for flutists?
MG Leather Work was founded when we noticed a decline in the market for natural material accessories for musical instruments, with more manufacturers opting for synthetic alternatives. During the 2020 lockdown, we launched this project, and it quickly found its first customers, receiving very positive feedback from musicians.
The project was initiated by Maksym Hopanchuk, the founder of the company, who has extensive experience in producing various accessories and goods for musicians. He also has significant experience in the music business, having owned a music store for many years and being a professional trumpet-playing musician himself. Having worked as a musician in orchestras and small ensembles, as well as a music teacher, he understands the needs of musicians very well.
What sets MG Leatherworks flute bags apart from other instrument cases on the market?
MG Leather Work's flute bags are designed with input from flutists, incorporating trends in the bag industry to ensure they are not only functional but also stylish and visually appealing. MG Leather Work offers an extensive selection of natural leathers and a wide color palette for each type of leather. This allows every customer to find their unique style in our bags, which is crucial for musicians, as each musician is an individual with their own vision of music and the world around them.

How do you ensure that your flute bags provide both protection and style for the instruments they carry?
For each of our products, we carefully select hardware, natural leather, and various linings to ensure all components are reliable, high-quality, durable, and practical for use. We blend the quality of our products with contemporary design to ensure our bags are not just protective or a convenient way to transport flutes or other musical instruments, but also a superb addition to a musician's look, which is very important. We design new models based on current fashion trends.
Can you tell us about the production process and how you maintain high standards?
When we have an idea to create a new product, we first discuss what and how it should be: for which instrument, how the musician will use the bag, and whether it will be convenient for them. We also discuss the idea with other musicians. Very often, our products are inspired by the ideas of our clients and musician friends.
Once our idea has gone through all the discussion stages, we pass it to our designer-technologist, who initially develops the design and selects materials for the bag. Then, we create a prototype and thoroughly study and test it. Often, after testing the prototype, we make several more until we achieve the desired result. After that, we set up the production process, and all subsequent samples are compared to the master model to ensure all products meet the set standards.
We source all materials from trusted suppliers, ensuring high quality of the leather and other materials. Before shipment, each product is inspected by our production manager. Even if a client receives a product with a defect, we always make a new bag, as we value each of our clients highly.
Looking to the future, are there any new designs or products that MG Leatherworks is planning to introduce?
We continuously improve our products based on customer feedback and modify our standard models to make them better. We plan to release seasonal collections of bags for flutes and other musical instruments. We are constantly developing new models to meet the needs of all musicians, even the most discerning ones.
