La Côte Flute Festival’s “Intermezzo” academy and festival will be held October 5-8, 2023 at the Conservatoire de Nyon in Switzerland featuring guest artists Michel Bellavance, Renaud Moutier, Luis Rigou, and Margherita Pupulin, Yves Charpentier along with ensembles Les Chemins de Traverse, Ensemble Caravelle, Le Concert Impromptu, and Ensemble la Chimera. The 21st Syrinx Flötenfest featuring Mario Caroli will take place October 6-7, 2023 at the Musikschule am Hofsteig, Wolfurt. Visit www.syrinx.at for more information.
The Hungarian Flute Convention will take place on October 14-15, 2023 at Óbudai Társaskör in Budapest. The headliner is Paolo Taballione, with additional recitals by Berten D’Hollander and Katalin Kramarics, along with performances by flutists from orchestras in Hungary and abroad, as well as courses for all ages, theoretical lectures, masterclasses, and an exhibition. The 20th International Friedrich Kuhlau Flute Competition will take place in Uelzen, Germany from October 22-28, 2023. The Lyrical Flute International Championship is accepting entries through October 31 (AEDT). Open to all age groups and levels, the international adjudication panel includes Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway, Ulla Miilmann, Joshua Batty, and Viviana Guzmán. The Tampere Flute Festival and competitions will take place April 26-28, 2024 in Finland. Open to flutists of any nationality born between 1992 and 2008, the International Franz and Carl Doppler Flute Competition will be held in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines from April 1-7, 2024. Applications will be accepted between August 1-November 15, 2023 for which the first round will be online, with the second through fourth rounds being held on site.
