Tarnów Summer Flute 2026: A Celebration of Flute Excellence in Poland

The Tarnów Summer Flute 2026 was a remarkable celebration of the flute—an inspiring gathering that brought together outstanding Polish and international flutists, gifted students, exceptional pianists, and a community united by a passion for musical excellence.

From the very beginning, it was evident that this was a festival organized with extraordinary care, professionalism, and vision. Expertly run and beautifully curated, Tarnów Summer Flute offered an impressive combination of high-level masterclasses, concerts, presentations, and opportunities for meaningful exchange between teachers and students. The result was an atmosphere that was both demanding and welcoming, encouraging young musicians to aspire to their highest artistic potential.

A Distinguished Faculty

One of the festival's greatest strengths was its extraordinary faculty of Polish flutists, representing a remarkable breadth of experience, artistry, and pedagogical expertise.

The festival featured dr hab. Urszula Janik-Lipińska, prof. UMFC; dr Natalia Jarząbek; dr hab. Jan Krzeszowiec; prof. Ewa Murawska; prof. dr hab. Magdalena Pilch; Hanna Turonek; dr hab. Łukasz Zimnik; and dr Seweryn Zapłatyński.

Each artist brought a distinctive musical voice and perspective to the festival, creating a rich tapestry of approaches to flute playing, performance, interpretation, technique, and musicianship. Their masterclasses were not simply lessons in technique; they were opportunities for students to deepen their musical understanding, develop confidence, and discover new possibilities in their playing.

The level of teaching was exceptionally high, and the generosity of the faculty was palpable. Students were given thoughtful, detailed guidance while being encouraged to develop their own individual artistic identities.

An International Musical Exchange

Adding an exciting international dimension to the festival was the participation of renowned flutists Greg Pattillo, Viviana Guzmán, Snježana Pavićević, and Luisa Sello.

Their presence brought different musical traditions, performance philosophies, and experiences to Tarnów, enriching the festival's already impressive artistic landscape. This international exchange is one of the great strengths of festivals such as Tarnów Summer Flute: students have the opportunity to encounter multiple approaches to the instrument while discovering that there are many paths toward artistic excellence.

The interaction between Polish and international artists created a particularly vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and discovery.

Outstanding Concerts and Presentations

The concerts and presentations throughout the festival were truly outstanding.

Audiences were treated to performances of exceptional artistry, demonstrating the extraordinary possibilities of the flute as both a solo and collaborative instrument. The concerts showcased virtuosity, sensitivity, musical imagination, and a remarkable diversity of repertoire and styles.

The presentations were equally valuable, offering students and participants the opportunity to explore instruments, equipment, musical ideas, and professional perspectives beyond the traditional masterclass setting.

And perhaps most gratifying of all was the opportunity to hear the students themselves.

A Magnificent Level of Students

The level of the students was magnificent.

Their preparation, musicality, enthusiasm, and commitment were evident throughout the festival. Hearing young flutists perform at such a high level was one of the most inspiring aspects of Tarnów Summer Flute 2026.

The quality of the students is also a reflection of the extraordinary work of their teachers and of the environment created by the festival. Tarnów provided a space where young musicians could challenge themselves, receive instruction from leading artists, perform for audiences, and learn from one another.

There was a wonderful sense of community—one in which students were encouraged not only to become better flutists, but to become more complete musicians.

Exceptional Collaborative Pianists

The festival was further elevated by the outstanding contributions of pianists dr hab. Dominika Peszko and dr hab. Ewa Rzetecka-Niewiadomska.

Their artistry and sensitivity provided an exceptional foundation for the festival's performances and masterclasses. Great collaborative pianists are essential to a successful flute festival, and their musical partnership contributed enormously to the quality of the performances.

Gratitude to the Sponsors

A festival of this caliber is possible because of the commitment and generosity of organizations and companies that believe in supporting young musicians and the flute community.

Special thanks go to the wonderful sponsors: Miyazawa Flutes, Jormula Music, Mancke Flute Headjoints, and Yamaha Flutes.

Their support helped create an environment in which students could learn, perform, explore instruments and equipment, and connect with the broader international flute community.

Congratulations, Natalia!

Above all, congratulations must go to dr Natalia Jarząbek for organizing another tremendous success.

Creating a festival that combines such an extraordinary faculty, international artists, exceptional concerts, high-level educational opportunities, wonderful pianists, enthusiastic students, and outstanding sponsors requires enormous dedication, organization, artistic vision, and attention to detail.

Natalia has once again demonstrated her remarkable ability to bring people together around the flute and to create an event that is both artistically inspiring and genuinely meaningful.

Tarnów Summer Flute 2026 was more than a flute festival—it was a celebration of musicianship, friendship, education, and the extraordinary possibilities of our instrument.

The future of the flute in Poland is clearly in wonderful hands. Tarnów Summer Flute is helping to build that future by giving young musicians access to exceptional artists, inspiring performances, and a community that believes deeply in their potential.

Congratulations to Natalia Jarząbek, Jarmula Music and the entire Tarnów Summer Flute team on another winning success—and thank you for creating such a memorable and inspiring celebration of the flute!
